Read to a Dog
Independent readers may register to read to a specially trained Reading Education Assistance Dog. Children can sign up to read for one 15 minute time slot to Raider, a Golden Retriever. This dog loves to listen to young readers! Sign up your child in advance either in person or by calling 222-6127. A Reader Registration Form is requested prior to reading; download it here or pick up a copy at the circulation desk.

Baby & Me Storytime for non-walkers includes a board book or two, lots of movement activity with rhyming, bouncing, and music. Bring a floor blanket for baby and come dressed to sit on the floor. Chairs or stools are available. Storytime is followed by free-playtime. Babies play, parents chat, everyone has a nice time.
- ToddlerTime for children ages 12months to 35months old.
Storytime includes a board book and a picture book. Parents and Toddlers are invited to enjoy songs and movement activities. Come dressed to sit on the floor (chairs or stools are available). Storytime is followed by free-playtime. Toddlers play, parents chat, everyone has a nice time.

- Picture Book Family Storytimes

Picture Book storytimes are geared for children age 3&4, however, this is meant to be a family storytime, so you are welcome to join us with children of all ages. We ask that you hold on your lap, young ones who might need your example for listening to stories. Bring your library card to check-out books after storytime!
Register if you intend to attend weekly, however, we have 10 slots open each week for walk-ins, first come first served.

Play Literacy

Through imaginative play, young children can experience the importance (and fun!) of reading and writing in everyday life. Learn how you can incorporate purposeful dramatic play with books, toys and literacy materials into your busy day.
This session will provide many tips for simple and inexpensive literacy activities.
For an audience of preschoolers-2nd grade (and their parents.)
Please sign up children only. Put the adult name or names in the "Special Needs" box for the child.

Kids ages 6 to 11 will have about 30-40 minutes to build a cool LEGO creation.

Build faces - funny faces, happy faces, animal faces, monster faces - ignite your imagination!
Show & Tell at the end of the program.
Pictures of Lego creations will be added to our Facebook Photo Album.
