Teen Tech Week is Here!
Pic-a-Tech Teen Photo Contest Mar 7-14
Share your photography skills and show off your technological savvy. Take a picture of some form of technology from any era. Photographs may be altered, so long as we can tell that the picture is truly technology.
Digital (JPEG, 25MB max) submissions should be sent to ask@mononalibrary.org with the Subject heading: Teen Tech Week Photo Contest. Hard copies will also be accepted at the Main Desk, attention Rob S.
All submissions should include your name, email and phone number and must be received by 3pm, Sunday March 14th. Winners will be chosen the following week. Prizes awarded based on creativity and visual appeal of the photo.
Submissions will be on display in the library and online. By submitting an image, you give the library permission to use your image and your first name for the purpose of displaying that image.
Lego My Lego Teen Build-a-Thon Sunday Mar 14
Get your BUILD on. Come to the Monona Public Library for an afternoon of Lego madness. Try out the new and awesome Wii Lego Rock Band on the BIG SCREEN. Then...the pressure is on: show us your best stuff in two building contests, one using the library’s Duplo blocks and another using Lego blocks. Compete to build the biggest and best structure...tea
For Teens in Grades 6-12! Please download a media permission slip and have it signed to bring in for the event.
Get the Word Out! Teen Writing Workshops
Are you writing a novel? How about journal or blog? A poem or a play? Or do you simply love to write for your own benefit? If so, then these workshops are for you! We'll have fun writing excercises to get your creativity flowing. Sharing will be optional, but may provide a unique perspective on your work. Join us in the TeenEscape for some ideas, some feedback and, as always, some snacks!

TeenEscape is a space is for teens - of all ages. We've created TEENeSCAPE, a landscape just for teens. Relax with friends on comfortable chairs, surf the net by yourself or with friends on computers set up just for you, or work on school projects together at a café table. Just be yourself. Monona Library Teen Knitting Group meets one Saturday of each month from 3:30 - 4:30 in the TEENeScape area. Check our calendar for dates.
As always, needles and yarn will be supplied. The Monona Public library's knitting book collection will be available for check out.

Tutor.com is available for all ages. It includes homework and resume help, writing assistance and test preparation. Log on through www.mononalibrary.org with your library card if you are a Monona resident. If you are not a resident, visit the Monona Library to use Tutor.com. Get one-on-one expert assistance (check the library website for hours). The new Learning Suite allows you to target problem areas, the online tutors make sure you not only get the problem done right, but you understand the concepts. Many services are available in Spanish.
