June 12: A Northern Light
by Jennifer Donnelly
Set in 1906 against the backdrop of the North Woods, this coming-of-age novel effortlessly weaves romance, history, and a murder mystery into something moving, and real, and wholly original. Mattie's frank voice reveals much about poverty, racism, and feminism at the turn of the twentieth century.
“A breathtaking tale, complex and often earthly, wrapped around a true story....riveting.” |
