Local artist Basia Rompa displays work at Library
The Monona Public Library is pleased to display the artwork of local artist and Monona Library patron Basia Rompa throughout the Library until October.
Basia was born and raised in the Midwest, instilling a deep appreciation for the slow moving hills of the countryside as well as the fast paced city lights. Her contemporary style combines the juxtaposed view of nature verses modernism.
Using a variety of mediums, her work showcases her eye as a photographer as well as her bold use of color as depicted in her graphic designs. From bright flowers to amazingly sophisticated multilayed ink drawings, Basia’s command of color, line, detail and composition blend neatly to create a style that is refreshing and unique.
Basia does custom work for various clients. Her show first debuted in Milwaukee during the April 18th and 19th Gallery Night and Day in 2008 and she will be exhibiting her work at the Monona Library until October 2008 and at local galleries and festivals across south central and southeastern Wisconsin. Her work will also be appearing in the Children’s Hospital Skywalk Gallery in August of 2009.
The Monona Library seeks local artists to display their work at the Library. Please contact Erick Plumb at 606-222-6127 for more information!
