City of Monona

Support the Library!

The Monona Public Library depends upon devoted patrons of all ages to help us serve the public. From helping us get materials on the shelves as a Volunteer, to raising funds for key Library projects as a member of the Friends of the Library, or contributing to the long-term financial health of the Library by contributing to the Library Foundation, there are numerous ways you can help make your Library an even greater place!

Volunteers

The Library depends on volunteers to help prepare new books for the shelves and to repair damaged materials. Help us get our materials ready in a timely manner! Contact Erick Plumb or Rob Klecker at 608-222-6127 if you can volunteer time on a regular basis. See the Volunteers page for much more information!

Friends of the Library

Want to be more involved with your Library? Learn about the Friends of the Monona Public Library and all that they do to make our Library great!

Booked for Life Campaign

The Monona Library Foundation has received a grant from the Madison Community Foundation that will provide a 1:2 match for every dollar we raise (we get $1 for every $2 we raise). The grant will provide up to $50,000 if we can raise $100,000.

The funds will be creatively used to endow books for the library's collection. A $500 donation will endow a book at the library pretty much in perpetuity - or until the end of time whichever comes first. This simple plan has the potential to give our library a foot up toward attaining and maintaining an excellent collection. Learn more!

Monona Public Library Foundation

The Monona Public Library Foundation, Inc. seeks to enhance the Monona Public Library's services beyond what can be provided through taxes or the other usual sources of revenue. Learn more about the Foundation here!

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Monona Public Library.

Kids as Storytellers

For kids in grades 4 through 8. No pre-registration is required. Kids as Storytellers (KAST) members who regularly participate in performing at the summer storytimes will receive prizes and letters of recommendations and will be invited to JV parties. Learn more about the KAST program!
